Remote
Employees work remotely with agreed equipment, connectivity, power resilience and local technical support.
How it works
InfraLayer provides the employment and operating infrastructure required to build a dedicated team in South Africa.
You define the roles, interview and select the people, and manage their work, systems, KPIs and output. Employees are employed locally through InfraLayer's South African EOR partner. InfraLayer manages the EOR relationship and provides the agreed technical and physical infrastructure around the team.
Start with someone you have already identified or ask InfraLayer to source the team against your requirements.
Six steps take the requirement from the first role to an operating team.
The client manages the people and the work. InfraLayer brings together talent sourcing, EOR and compliance, technical infrastructure and physical workspace underneath the team.
InfraLayer calls this model Offshore Infrastructure.
The process begins with a clear understanding of the team you want to build.
InfraLayer can support either of two starting points.
InfraLayer identifies South African professionals against the agreed role brief.
The client retains control of interviews, technical assessment, team-fit assessment, final selection and the decision to appoint.
The time needed to build the team depends on the roles, seniority, the availability of suitable people and any notice periods. Once the roles are agreed, InfraLayer will set out a realistic timetable.
Where the client already knows who it wants in the team, InfraLayer can manage the local employment and infrastructure setup without conducting a sourcing process.
This can include transitioning employees or contractors from another EOR provider or contractor arrangement. InfraLayer coordinates the change around the existing contractual, notice and onboarding requirements, with the transition designed to minimise disruption to day-to-day work.
In both cases, the employee joins the client's team and works within the client's management structure.
Once the individual has been selected, the employee is employed locally through InfraLayer's South African EOR partner. The employment setup can include:
The client agrees the commercial requirements for the role with InfraLayer, including salary, working hours, incentives and benefits.
InfraLayer coordinates onboarding, payroll and statutory administration with its South African EOR partner, which is the legal employer.
The operating environment is built around the client's requirements.
The employees join the client's existing operating structure. They work:
role-specific onboarding, technical training, task allocation and performance expectations.
local onboarding with its EOR partner, including contracts, payroll enrolment, equipment and access to local support where required.
Once the employee or team is operating, InfraLayer manages the ongoing employment and infrastructure support, working with its EOR partner on payroll, statutory administration and formal employment matters. This can include:
The client continues to manage the work, the people and the performance. If the team grows, the employment and operating infrastructure can expand with it.
The client manages day-to-day performance and provides operational feedback.
Formal disciplinary, grievance and exit processes are managed through InfraLayer and its South African EOR partner so that the legal employer follows the appropriate local employment process.
You manage the team. InfraLayer manages the employment and operating infrastructure underneath it.

Employees work from professional Cape Town workspace with managed connectivity, power resilience and access to meeting facilities.
A team can begin remotely and move into professional workspace as headcount and operating requirements develop.
InfraLayer can support:
The infrastructure can expand as the client adds roles, functions or workspace requirements.
Finance and Accounting is often the starting point, including accounts payable and receivable, management accounting, FP&A, financial reporting, finance operations and shared services. The same model can support suitable roles across HR and People, Technology and Data, Marketing and Digital, and Operations and Transformation.
The model does not require a particular starting function.
No. Employees are employed locally through InfraLayer's South African EOR partner, so the client does not need to establish its own South African employing entity.
Not as a standalone or software-only service. Legal employment is delivered through InfraLayer's South African EOR partner as one layer of the wider Offshore Infrastructure model. The EOR partner is the legal employer, while the client retains operational control of the team.
Yes. InfraLayer can manage the local employment, payroll and agreed infrastructure arrangements for someone the client has already selected.
This can include a planned transition from another EOR provider or contractor arrangement, subject to the individual's existing notice, termination and contract terms.
The client provides role-specific, technical and systems training and manages daily performance, objectives and operational KPIs. InfraLayer manages local onboarding, employment administration and agreed local infrastructure.
Yes. The team can begin remotely and add equipment, local support or professional workspace as the requirement develops.
The timeline depends on the roles, availability of suitable people, working model, equipment and infrastructure required.

A proposed timeline is confirmed once the requirement has been defined.
Tell us the roles, working model and infrastructure you need.
We will discuss whether you already have people identified, whether sourcing is required and what local employment and operating support should be put in place.
